How to Structure a Handwritten Letter
Date
Write the date at the top right or left. Use the full format: August 12, 2026.
Salutation (Greeting)
Start with "Dear [Name]," on the left side. For informal letters, you can use "Hi [Name]," or "Hello [Name],"
Body Paragraphs
Write your message in clear paragraphs. Each paragraph should cover one topic. Leave a blank line between paragraphs.
Closing
End with a closing phrase: "Sincerely," "Best regards," "With warm regards," or "Love," followed by your name.
